Education & Training

Carla joined the Allegany Franciscan Ministries team in 2017 and holds over 20 years of combined experience working in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. In her role, she provides the administration and support for all initiative and grant programs using equitable, trust-based data and practices as a guide to approach the work. She serves as an initial point of contact, providing information to new applicants and existing grant partners regarding Allegany’s funding opportunities and offering guidance and support throughout the application and reporting process. Additionally, she manages and monitors quality assurance for grants management and operational procedures to ensure due diligence and overall compliance.

Prior to her current role, Carla worked in nonprofit organizations with youth and their families and served as Office Manager at Florida Philanthropic Network. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work at the University of South Florida and was recognized as a Conn Social Work Scholar in the program. She also completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate Program through University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business and served as membership co-chair on the PEAK Grantmaking Florida Chapter leadership team in 2021-2024.

Carla resides in Tampa and is an avid animal lover and advocate, currently supporting and volunteering with Friends of Strays Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg. She enjoys being outdoors in nature and relaxing at the beach.
